How many activities can be done in a single day together with 700 other people?

From International Centre near Orangeville to Yonge-Dundas Square to Wong Dai Sin Temple in Steeles Ave. and back to the Centre again we enjoyed a fabulous day in which, for every step of the way, the working together was the one thing that made it all happened.

The Awareness Day started with a warm and radiant morning at Yonge & Dundas, the buses started to arrive and in a few minutes all the square was full of tai chiers from around the world ready to participate and help present the many ways in which we can connect with people all around us.

Tai chi sets, Lok Hup, Sword and Sabre sets, short speeches with beautiful reminders of the greatness of these arts, listening to the reps of the countries, two dragons waving and spiraling and bringing joy to the crowd, a samba band and the Scottish pipes; the flags of the countries and members greeting to the public. All this in one parade and in one single morning at downtown Toronto.

At the Wong Dai Sin Temple we celebrated with the winners of the photo contest and got the chance to admire many pictures that captured deep aspects of our tradition, a vehicle that can help us encounter the spark of goodness that, as I have heard, Master Moy used to say exists in each and every one us.

Tired but with good spirits, we closed the day listening about upcoming and current projects and how the family is doing all around the world. So it doesn’t matter where you are from or what is your language, we are here to help each other and to help us understand the many ways in which we can make the Taoist Tai Chi™ arts more available to others and carry on Master Moy´s legacy.

In working together we develop trust, we are more relaxed and learn to have fun and we share many stories with each other and feel supported. Aren’t these just beautiful gifts!
